Ekal Learning Centres:

Ekal Learning Centre is an initiative of Friends of Tribals Society.Through this program, centre are established to provide Minimum Level of Learning (MLL) with innovative techniques to needy and disadvantaged children and also helping for creating employment through the local available resources.

Smt.Sita Devi Malhotra Charitable Trust (SDMT) is supporting 90 Ekal Learning Centres since June 2015. One centre in each village, total 90 villages covering approx. 2700 Children in age group 6 to 14 years. These centers are located in Ranchi District of Jharkhand. The schools are organized on a public place in evening hours, usually between 13.00 to 16.00 hours, which is comfortable time for all children to join learning centers.

Ekal schools are being managed by a team of dedicated persons who extend their service on voluntary basis.Besides functional education, students are exposed on other important aspects like; health care education, development education, Ethics & value education and empowerment education.

     
 Adharshila  

Aharshila Model School:

SDMT is supporting Adharshila School since 2012. The school is located in village Agraa, district Sheopur in Madhya Pradesh. The purpose of this project is to improve the quality of school education for 300 marginalized children. 

The school focuses on education of girls, children from SC and ST communities residing in nearby villages. The school runs from class III to class Xth. The school is equipped with qualified teachers, Science Lab, Computer education for children etc. to ensure quality education 

The school is being run in Chambal region known for high poverty, poor governance and low female literacy. The poorest households in this region depend on unskilled, uncertain and low paying wage labour (local as well as migrant) as their most important source of livelihood. Improving the access of poor households to skill-based private and public sector employment opportunities is critical for overcoming poverty. 

Adharshila is functioning as a model School which sets high standards for quality education of underprivileged children.

     
Nature  

Special Training Centre – EK Kadam Aur:

Sita Devi Malhotra Charitable Trust has supported the cause from 2012 to 2015 and reached out to 380 marginalized children and mainstreamed 200 children into school. 

The main objective of Ek Kadam Aur was to create an enabling environment for the children in the age group of 6- 14 years. for their successful enrollment and retainment into school.
